General Council Meeting 2011
Dear ICF Member,
It is my pleasure to announce that our next ICF Conference will take place in Bristol, Great Britain, 4 July - 6 July 2011. The General Council meeting will be held on 4 July 2011. We are pleased that our Conference will be part of the joint conference of the International Cremation and Burial Conference and Exhibition 2011. Further information on registration and the program will be available shortly. In the meantime, please mark these dates in your diary.
Next to this important news, we would like to draw your attention to the topic of elections. The Articles of Association of our Federation outline in detail the procedure concerning the election of members of the Executive Committee. All members have the opportunity to nominate candidates.
The following members of the Executive Committee have reached the end of their current term of office:

Article 6.3 determines that members of the Executive Committee are eligible for re-election. Dr. Lichtner, Mr Righi and the Secretary General are available for re-election. The Executive Committee has decided to nominate Mr Henry Keizer as Secretary General and DI. Rolf Lichtner and Mr Gabriele Righi as members of the Executive Committee. Mr Peter MacClean and Mr Duncan McCallum have decided not to stand for re-election due to retirement from their current position. Both have served our Federation in an impressive way.
The Executive Committee had decided to nominate Mr Darryl Thomas (Australia, representative of the Australasian Cemeteries & Crematoria Association) for the position of Vice-President.
The Executive Committee had decided to nominate Mr Rick Powell (Great Britain, representative of FBCA) for the position of Vice-President.
If you wish to make a nomination for any position in the Executive Committee, please inform the office of the Secretary-General as soon as possible. Nominations must be received before 1 March 2011. Nominated members will be asked to confirm their willingness and ability to stand for election. After this process the membership will receive the list of candidates.
